Product Care
Care & Maintenance Standard
To maintain the finish and quality of your C&R product, please follow the cleaning procedures outlined below. When using any cleaning agent, we recommend testing it first on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure color fastness before treating the stain.
For large or persistent stains, we advise contacting a professional furniture cleaning service for appropriate recommendations. These care and maintenance instructions are provided as a courtesy to assist you in preserving your product. No warranty is implied or expressed, as cleaning results may vary depending on materials, usage, and conditions.
Coated Metal
• Routine Cleaning: Wipe coated metal surfaces with a soft cloth dampened in a mild detergent and warm water solution. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely to prevent water spots or residue.
• Low-Gloss Coatings: To remove scuff marks, apply a pre-softened paste wax, following the manufacturer’s directions carefully. This helps maintain the surface’s original finish and appearance.
• High-Gloss Coatings: To remove scuff marks or minor scratches, use an automotive polishing compound (liquid or paste). After polishing, apply a pre-softened automotive paste wax to restore the original sheen and protect the surface.
Chromed Components
For regular cleaning, use a piece of cheesecloth or microfiber cloth dampened with a non-abrasive cleaner such as mild liquid dish soap. Gently rub the chrome surface until the original luster is restored.
After cleaning, dry the component thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any soap residue and prevent water spots.
Glass
Use a mild solution of ammonia, water, and a few drops of mild liquid soap, or a cleaner specifically formulated for glass.
Apply the solution with a soft cloth, then remove any excess with a squeegee or wipe dry using a clean, lint-free cloth to prevent streaks or residue buildup.
Plastics
Routine Cleaning: Wash plastic surfaces using a soft cloth soaked in a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth to maintain surface appearance.
Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use solvents, abrasive kitchen cleaners, or harsh chemicals, as they may damage the surface finish.
Prevent Surface Damage: Avoid scrubbing with stiff brushes or other abrasive materials, as these can cause permanent scratches or dull the surface.
Laminates
Products featuring laminate surfaces may include tabletops, work surfaces, open shelves, pedestals, cabinets, and panel tiles.
• General Cleaning: Clean laminate surfaces using a soft cloth and a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth to maintain a smooth, even finish.
• Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use powdered abrasives, bleach (sodium hypochlorite), hydrogen peroxide, nitric acid, or hydrochloric acid, as these substances can damage the surface and alter the finish color.
Wood & Veneer
• Protection: To safeguard wood surfaces, place protective desk pads under all writing areas and business machines.
• Avoid Heat and Humidity: Extreme heat and humidity can damage wood furniture. Avoid placing products in direct sunlight, near radiators, air conditioning vents, humidifiers, fireplaces, or other sources of heat. Always use coasters under hot objects, such as coffee pots and cups.
• Daily Cleaning: Dust furniture daily with a slightly damp, soft, lint-free cloth. Wipe dry with a dry, soft cloth, always moving in the direction of the wood grain.
• Monthly Cleaning: Once a month, clean the surface with a soft cloth dampened with a quality cleaner formulated for wood furniture. Remove dirt and fingerprints by wiping in the direction of the wood grain, then dry thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.
• Semi-Annual Maintenance: Twice a year, apply a good quality emulsion wax using a soft cloth. Emulsion wax is clear and helps prevent fingerprints while maintaining the finish.
• Avoid Harmful Products: Do not use aerosol-powered cleaners, polishes, waxes, abrasive cleaners, or oily polishes, as these can damage the finish.
Whiteboard
To remove ghosting after erasing, lightly apply nail polish remover or hand sanitizer to a paper towel and gently clean the affected area.
Afterwards, wash the surface with mild soap and water and wipe dry with a clean cloth to restore the original finish.
